Join us for yoga, pranayama and ayurveda classes and workshops at our beautiful yoga studio in the Uptown/River Bend area of New Orleans. We offer led ashtanga vinyasa yoga classes, Mysore-style astanga yoga classes and other forms of hatha yoga classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. We also provide private yoga classes, pranayama (breath practice) instruction and ayurveda, an individualized approach to wellness through diet and lifestyle. We are the only NOLA studio to offer Integrated Wellness packages, because when combined with the right diet and lifestyle, the yoga practice can become a personal journey to perfect, balanced state of health.

Our yoga teachers are highly trained and skilled in working with students of different ages and abilities. We also bring in leading teachers from around the world to conduct yoga workshops and classes for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners.

Our mission is to help you deepen your knowledge of yoga and pranayama, strengthen your practice, and become clearer, healthier and more balanced in all aspects of your life. Indian Masters of Sanskrit: Jayashree and Narasimha Jan. 28-30 2011 Jayashree and Narasimha have imparted their deep understanding of the yoga language through Sanskrit chanting for many years. Indian Master Yogi: Sri O.P. Tiwari: April 7-11 2011: New Orleans is very lucky to receive the teachings of Sri O.P. Tiwari, one of the few true masters of yogic practices. He has been dedicated for many years to spreading the practices of yoga in a true, authentic and humble manner. He is asked to teach all over the world, and spreads the teachings of yoga through his own personal experiences. Pranayama classes offered in small groups

If you have not experienced the deep relaxation and calm mind that come from deepening and extending your breath, you must experience it! Pranayama is the sanskrit term for stretching out your breath, which has a parallel effect on the mind, making it calmer, clearer and less impacted by everyday stresses. The term is often used in association with yoga, but truely well-qualified teachers are rare. Jessica has learnt from Sri O.P. Tiwari for more than eight years, and has been given his blessing to teach Pranayama.

Putting it together - the right diet, a balanced yoga practice, including both postures for the body and breathing exercises to calm the mind, maybe even meditation; yields a synergetic effect which is much stronger than doing one on its own. The diet supports the yogic practice. This has been long understood and stated in most yogic texts. Practicing yoga also makes you more aware of your body and its needs. Yoga Thailand Healthy Lifestyle Cookbook, by Jessica Blanchard and Paul Dallaghan

In 2004 when while at Yoga Thailand and repeatedly being told by guests how delicious the foods was, Jessica had the idea to put together a cookbook of the delicious recipes that were served at the retreat center. She spent time in the kitchen with the main cook, Su, documenting the recipes. The cookbook was very successful from the start, and has evolved into something professionally printed and beautifully photographet. It is now available on amazon.com. It is a mix of Thai, Indian and Western vegetarian recipes, extremely flavorful and healthy. This is a great way to kick start a healthy eating program, and goes very well with and Ayurvedic lifestyle and eating habits. Available at the studio! Email to reserve a copy
